The Last 5 Years

Friday is here, and this marks the final two performances that Dan will be producing for music fest.

This evening’s shows featured our good friend Bob Moody who is this year’s Music Director for Music Fest. You may also remember him as the Associate Conductor for the Phoenix Symphony. These days he is spending his time on the East Coast as music director for the Winston-Salem Symphony.

Magic was all around as this show was coming together. Two days prior, the Pianist was unable to get out of New York due to the weather. Calling Joshua Ivey to save the performance. Jivey as is more commonly known has worked with Mouse Recording in the past on the Ramon Pratt CD project. Little did we know then the talents that Jivey was hiding? This boy can play. As it turns out, he did The Last 5 Years two years ago with a local theater company and the performance was still in his head.

The show was amazing and the audience was engaged the entire time.
For the show, Dan was assisted by Michael Markowski, who also shot video for the evenings events.
For the recording we had a great line up:
DPA 4021 – Piano
Sennheiser MKH40 – Violin
Sennheiser MKH40 – Cello
Sennheiser MKH40 – Cell0
Neumann KK104 – Vocals
Millenia Media HV3D Mic Pres.
Mackie Onyx Mixer
Nuendo

See you at Music Fest 2008!!!!!

Music Fest 2007

Today Dan spent the day onsite at The Grey Hawk Golf Resort for Music Fest 2007. This week’s festival performances took place at the Fairway House, and Dan was tasked with providing, audio, lighting and recording services for their events.

Usually Mouse Recording does not provide live sound reinforcement services; only on special occasions do we make this exception. And want an exceptional experience it was.

This evening the festival featured Chris Brubeck’s Triple Play. Three amazing and well accomplished performers entertained the audience with folk music for all generations. The audience was astounded and could not get enough.

For the event we provided some incredible equipment, just check out the mic list.

DPA-4021 – Piano
Sennheiser MKH-40 – Guitar
Sennheiser MKH-40 – Percussion
Neumann KK104 – Vocals, Vocals, Vocals, Vocals (That’s 4 Neumanns)

The microphones were ran through a Millennia Media HV3D preamp then to a Mackie Onyx Mixer.

Tonight is the first of three performances for the week.
