Back with Scott Youngs

Today Dan and Scott worked on editing 5 audio tracks. What was fascinating was some of the material was recorded 5 years ago, while some of the materials we edited in came from sessions within the last couple of weeks. Amazingly, thanks to Scott’s insight in to the recording and editing process, not the mention the ability to craft an amazing sound from his ensembles, we were able to complete the tracks from 5 years ago with seamless edits of recent recordings. I will bet that no one outside of the ensemble will ever be able to tell there is a difference.

This afternoon Dan was in session editing with Scott youngs. We spent the day editing the live recordign we did for Good Fridays performance of Teh Passion Acording to St. John, by J.S. Bach.

All Saints Recording

This morning Dan was on-locationa at All Saints capturing a few short works for their upcomming CD project. Dan will meet with Scott youngs this next week to edit and get tracks ready for mastering.

Thank god it is Good Friday

Today Dan spent the afternoon at All Saints Episcopal church in Phoenix, Arizona recording "The Passion According to St. John by J.S. Bach.

This is an anual performance conducted by Music Director Scott Youngs. The ensemble consists of 5 soloists, 12 musicians and about 50 voices all of them making up The American Bach Ensemble, and The Senior Choir of All Saints.

For this recording we used the existing house microphones and brought in 2 of our DV cameras to capture the event.
