Editing with Sue Westendorf

Today Dan spent a couple of hours editing some recorded tracks with organist, Sue Westendorf.

Sue has literaly played for everyone in the valley, and while we usualy hear her as an accompanist today she shined as a solo performer on some amazing works. Her goal is to simply have a product for thoes interested in what she can do. And trust me, she can do it all.

The best part is we were not editing to fix mistates, we were simply editing to remove the sounds of page turns :) Ya, she is that good.

Scott Youngs day 2

Today Scott Youngs was back working with Dan as they finished putting together his recording fo the Goldberg Variations. 30 variations and 3 Arias in total will complete the material for this CD project.

We will probbaly have one more session that will involve determining the time between each variation. This is as much an artistic statement as the performing itself.

The editing went about as smooth as it could go. Craig was well prepared, and his accompanist Sue Westendorf is extremely consistent.

Editing with Scott Youngs

Today Dan and and the All Saints Choir Director Scott Youngs spent a couple of hours editing the recording sessions from the past 2 weekends.

Fortunatly, Scott is a pro when it comes to recording. He knows what he needs to get, when he needs to get it and how to get it. By the end of the sessions, we were as confused as anyone as to how it would come out. Today, Scotts talents shined through as everything fell neatly in to place.

We edited 9 tracks, with a 10th track that required no editing.

Tomorrow, Scott will take the editing tracks to Dave Shirk as Sonorous Mastering, and from there it will go to duplication for a holiday release.

Dance Season Begins!!!!

This is the time of the year that get's crazy fun.

For the past 4 years Dan has been the audio editing engineer of choice for All About Dance (http://www.allaboutdance-az.com/). Each year, Dan prepares numerous edits and masters for dance competitions and recitals. With about 60 edits a year as well as audio production for their yearly recital, Dance Season is one of our busiest times of year.

Today, Dan spent some time with All About Dance, instructor Rhianna preparing two tracks for an up coming dance competition.
